When: Every Thursday evening in August
Where: Salem Lake
Time: 6:00pm
The Internet tells us that Dog Days are "The hottest period of the year (reckoned in antiquity from the heliacal rising of Sirius, the Dog Star)" and is typically "A period of inactivity or sluggishness". August is typically the hottest period of the year so don't let the Dog Days get you down. Stay active and defeat sluggishness by getting together for a group run each Thursday evening in August.
This will be a friendly, non-competitive run for runners of all levels. The club will set up a clock at the start so you can see how long it takes you to run your distance, as well as water at the start and the finish (which are, by the way, the same location).
The distance around the lake is 7 miles. There are mile markers for each mile, so if you want to run 2 miles, turn around at the one mile mark (to run four miles, turn at the two mile marker, etc.), or do the entire loop.
I know that many of you will be running the Salem Lake Trail Races, so what a better way to train than to run the course.
Hope to see you there!
