Twin City Track Club presents
2007 Winter Seminar
Saturday February 3rd
with ZAP Fitness
February 3rd, 6:00 PM, Bridger Field House.
We’ll get started at 6:00 PM with a social hour and have dinner at 7:00, with our speaker to follow. Make plans now to join us for a fun and informative evening with your fellow runners.
Our speaker this year is Zika Palmer. Not only is she a 2:41 marathoner, who finished 2nd at the 2005 US Marathon Championships and 2 time Olympic Trials Qualifier, but she is co-founder and president of the ZAP Fitness Foundation in Blowing Rock. She holds a degree in Exercise Science and regularly holds lectures on Sport Nutrition, Exercise Physiology and Strength Training. Zika is the Exercise Scientist using ZAP's extensive testing equipment for the benefit of the elite and regional athletes. Zika enjoys the challenge of combining scientific results and individual lifestyle needs to create the perfect training scenario for athletes regardless of age or ability.
Also at the seminar will be Carol Bruce. She will have a table and following the speaker will distribute a one page handout that has a "formula for success" on it as well as the places that trip most people up, usually our unconscious beliefs that sabotage our results. She will also offer to meet after the event with anyone who is really committed to making something happen and wants to ensure their success. Ms. Bruce offers a series of coaching sessions at a set fee that includes clarity of starting point, end point, steps that guarantee success, and shifting limiting beliefs that hold people back from having what they want. This is a process that can be applied to any area of our lives (running, health, finances, career, relationships, time). Ms. Bruce is also the mother of former TCTC member and running standout, Elizabeth Bruce.
Finally, at the seminar, Omega Sports will also have a table and will be showing off “Spring Fashions”. They may even do a “fashion show.”
There is a $15 charge for the Seminar and dinner for non members. $5 charge to TCTC members. If you are planning to attend the TCTC Winter Seminar on Saturday, February 3rd from 6pm-9pm, an RSVP to activities@twincitytc.org must be received no later than January 30th. This is to make sure we have enough food for all those attending.
The location is Wake Forest’s Bridger Field House. From Business I-40, exit Cherry St., north to University Parkway, turn east on Deacon Boulevard, and north into the Grove Stadium parking lot.
