Beat the Heat 5K

The purpose of Beat the Heat is to promote fitness and health, and improve the quality of life for individuals and families.  

Beat the Heat was selected as the "Best 5K in the Triad" by Endurance Magazine and was featured in Running Journal Magazine as the #1 Must Run “Under the Radar” race in the South! 

 

Congrats to everyone who ran in the 2017 Beat the Heat Events!  Results are posted on RunSignUp and Ultimate Race Management.

2018 Beat the Heat 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

Saturday, July 21, 2017 (tentative)

6:30 pm - 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk  
7:00 pm - Beat the Heat 5K Race
8:00 pm - NC USATF 5K Championship

Directed by Twin City Track Club

  Beat the Heat is the North Carolina USATF 5K Road Championship with $5000 in prize money!

Both races will start and finish in the parking area near WFU's BB&T Football Stadium.

Beat the Heat Volunteer Information

Preregistered Packet Pickup and Late Registration

Runners can register at packet pickup on Friday before the race at Fleet Feet Sports of Winston-Salem or on Saturday at the Race Site.   

5K Race Fee:  $40 at Friday Packet Pickup and on Race Day   

Bib numbers and race t-shirts may be picked up on the Friday before the race from 3pm to 7 pm at Fleet Feet Sports Winston-Salem:
278 Harvey Street (next to LA Fitness on Stratford Road)
Winston-Salem, NC 27103 336.722.8477  

Bib numbers and race t-shirts may also be picked up at the race site on race day beginning at 5pm.
