During his athletic career he won silver and bronze Olympic medals (Melbourne 1956 and Rome 1960), was twice U.S. national champion, and competed in three world championships in modern pentathlon.  Mr. Daniels has taught and coached in Oklahoma, Texas, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Oregon, New York, North Carolina, and Arizona. During his college coaching career, his athletes won 30 individual national championships; and 130 of his runners won All-American honors. The NCAA named him "Women's Cross County Coach of the 20th Century." Dr. Daniels is the author of Daniels' Running Formula, published by Human Kinetics.
